Businesses with physical locations in multiple cities have it easier. Each location can have its own Google Business Profile, building local authority naturally. If expansion is realistic, opening satellite offices in target cities is the most effective multi-city strategy. For service-area businesses with one location, the approach is different. You can set up your GBP to show service areas rather than a single address. This tells Google you serve those areas, though it does not give you the same proximity advantage as having a physical presence. The service area approach requires compensation through superior website optimization, content, citations, reviews mentioning those areas, and links from sources in those cities.

Creating Effective City Pages

City pages are location-specific pages on your website targeting each city you want to rank in. Done well, they help you rank organically for city-specific searches. Done poorly, they can hurt your SEO. Effective city pages require unique, substantial content about each location. This is not just swapping city names in a template.
